Award winning Sound Designer - Composer
Vanesa Lorena Tate started composing and exploring sounds at the age of four, playing the recorder and piano. She then passed on playing guitar and violin at the “Rudolf Steiner Schule” school. At the age of 9 she enrolled at the “Conservatorio de la Lucila” (Buenos Aires – Argentina) for Piano and Flute. As her family moved to Italy she carried on her studies at the “Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Milano”. She graduated from Flute and Piccolo at the above mentioned conservatoire.
She is a former student of the Royal Academy of Music (London 1997- 2001) in the Media and Applied Music Course. She studied under Nick Ingman (Matrix Reloaded, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, Shakespeare in Love), Rick Wentworth (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lara Croft Tomb Raider) and James Brett (X-Men, The Island).
She freelances in London and LA as a Sound Designer, Supervising Sound Editor, Media Composer, Music Editor, Location Sound Mixer and Recording Engineer. She has been working along side David Evans (Sweeney Todd, Children of Men, Batman Begins), James Mather (Chicken Run, Notes on a Scandal, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Martin Hernandez (Babel, Hellboy 2, Pan's Labyrinth),
David McMoyler (Cliffhanger, Final Destination, Flightplan), Scott Gershin (Kill Bill, American Beauty, Shrek), Joakim Sundstrom (The Constant Gardener, The Road to
Guantanamo), Leslie Shatz (Twilight, Milk, Elephant).
In December 2009 she won Best Sound Design for her latest feature film project called LOVELORN.
